The Manchester derby which was seeming to head towards a draw finally tilted in the favor of the red part of Manchester. Manchester United defeated Manchester City in a thrilling match which ended City's unbeaten run in the league this season.

This time instead of writing a few lines about the match analysis, I have thought of posting two images which reflect the sentiments of any die hard Man United fan.

This is the image which created lot of controversy as City tried to get cheeky by making Tevez a scapegoat.

But, Alas! Tevez could not enjoy the derby as he ended up being on the losing side as Michael Owen, literally out of nowhere, snatched a goal and gave United a deserving win. The image below will now be remembered in true sense as it marks Owen's first goal at Old Trafford.

With this victory, Manchester United have silenced their "noisy neighbors" and Carlos Tevez as well.

Glory! Glory! Manchester United.

The only Asian player who wears a Manchester United tee, Park Ji-Sung has recently signed a two-year contract extension. This deal will keep him at Manchester United until 2012. Park's agent did claim a deal with the South Korean had been done during the week, United officially confirmed the news recently.

I remember there was a large degree of scepticism surrounding Park when he first came to United in 2005 from PSV Eindhoven. People had said that United had secured a markatable player in Asia and not a football player, especially after the sale of David Beckham to Real Madrid.

Yet, while the commercial spin-offs of having Asia's highest-profile player in their squad have been obvious in two highly profitable visits to the continent, both of which took United to Seoul, Park has also proved his worth on the field. Even the manager, Sir Alex Ferguson added his own tribute and said, "We are always pleased to secure the future of our star players and Ji-Sung has proved himself to be a fantastic professional as well as an important versatile player in our squad."

Park who has made 127 United appearances so far has scored 12 goals. On his new deal he said, "I am so pleased to have a new contract. We have achieved great success over the last four years and won many trophies. It is a great experience for me to play at this magnificent football club along with other world famous players."

It will be great if Park makes an appearance in today's derby game against Manchester City. It will be tough though, especially with Darren Fletcher in supreme form. But with Paul Scholes out with suspension, Fergie will definitely try to utilize the passion and energy of a player who's got a new deal. I hope it turns out to be a classic Manchester derby.

Manchester United have a real test tomorrow when they play against their local rivals. Though, United manager Sir Alex Ferguson considers Liverpool as their local rivals and not Manchester City, but a derby is a derby. And tomorrow, the red and the blue part of Manchester will unite at the Theater of Dreams to witness a classic match.

The reason I feel this match will be interesting is because City have had a fabulous start to their season. With more than $120 million spent on transfers, City are seen as one of the top challengers for the league title. I know this will never happen but it would be great if United thrash them tomorrow and bring them to the ground.

With a superb victory against Spurs, coupled with a perfect start to their Champions League campaign in Turkey, United are looking strong. Rio Ferdinand's injury is a major concern but I guess Vidic and Evans should be able to guard the defense if Rio misses out. Also, with Wayne Rooney is outstanding form, I expect him to score goals tomorrow.

As far as City are concerned, they are completely handicapped after losing four of their main strikers to injuries and suspensions. Roque Santa Cruz, Robinho, Emmanuel Adebayor and ex- United player Carlos Tevez are all unavailable for Mark Hughes for the derby game. And it seems he will have to rely on Craig Bellamy and Benjani Mwaruwari up front.

It has been really very disheartening to see City fans lose their minds and go insane. Manchester City fans suck so much that they have started to tease United fans by sporting a poster of Carlos Tevez that states "Welcome to Manchester" after he switched colours in the summer. WTF! City - you are losers.

For those who only rely on stats, here are the results of the previous ten meetings between these two Manchester teams. See for yourself, why I call City as losers.

Gary Neville believes that wonder kid Wayne Rooney can one day break Sir Bobby Charlton's record of scoring goals for Manchester United. And this comes after Rooney claimed to remain with the Red Devils for life.

There's no doubt that Rooney has got immense talent in him. And Neville praised Rooney's attitude and work ethics and hence sees him become one of Old Trafford's greatest players. Currently he has 102 goals in his kitty and needs many more goals to beat Sir Bobby's record of 249. But Wayne is just 23 and has got a lot of time with him and considering the form he has been exhibiting for his club and country, he might well score more than 300 goals.

His present team-mate Ryan Giggs eclipsed Sir Charlton's appearance record in the 2008 Champions League final against Barcelona. Rooney currently sits 18th on the all-time goal scorers list behind Ruud van Nistelrooy and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Even Dimitar Berbatov has showered lots of praise on Rooney for his skills and commitment to football. He said that Wayne is the first one to arrive on the training ground and the last one to leave. That shows how much he enjoys his football and his commitment towards learning. Also he is never in the newspapers for whatever reasons, simply because he does not want to become a celebrity. He is a footballer and likes to remain a football player all his life.

Great going Rooney. I hope to see you score more goals this season, especially since Tevez and Ronaldo have left. And I don't trust in the goal scoring abilities of Owen and Berbatov.
