Dimitar Berbatov seems to be heading for Turkey. The Old Trafford hitman has been linked with a move to Turkish side Fenerbahce during January.
The man who cost United a whooping £30.75 million seems to have failed to live up to his price tag. After two decent seasons with United, he started off this season with a bang. He scored six goals in the initial seven games and it seemed like he was finally getting his rhythm back.
His hat trick against Liverpool was one of the best performances that Berbatov has produced in the Red shirt. However, since then, he has simply been lost out. I sometimes feel that he plays well only when he’s paired with Wayne Rooney. He has been absolutely ineffective during the recent games when he has started alongside Chicharito.
According to the German 4-4-2 website, the Turkish giants are have prepared a €15 million offer for Berbatov. Fenerbahce are reportedly ready to offer the Bulgarian €5 million per year to lure him to Istanbul.
I think Sir Alex Ferguson will never offload Berbatov in the current situation. Rooney is not yet fully fit, Chicharito is scoring goals but he’s very young. He alongwith Macheda and Bebe lack the experience that will be required in the later stages of the Champions League as well as the Premier League.
What do you think? Will Fergie allow Berbatov to join Fenerbahce? Will €5 million per year change Berbatov’s heart?
