Manchester United played their best side as promised by Sir Alex Ferguson and romped to a comfortable 3-0 win against Danish side Aalborg, with new signing Bebartov breaking his duck for the defending European champions. After three matches without a goal, Berbatov finally scored, not one but two to silence his critics.

One of the major surprises the last night was Sir Alex handing a debut to 18-year-old Rafael Da Silva. The Brazilian was all over Aalborg as he continuously threatened with his attacking play. The only worry for the night was Paul Scholes sustaining a ligament damage after a opening 16th minute tackle from Thomas Augustinussen. He was immediately replaced by another United veteran, Ryan Giggs. But Scholes injury is a bit serious and he would be out of action for about 6-8 weeks.
