Ryan Giggs, one of Britain’s most decorated footballer was appointed as player/coach by David Moyes last month. While Giggs wanted to continue his playing career at Manchester United, he couldn't refuse the coaching role because it was too good.

While admitting his excitement of joining Moyes' coaching staff for the 2013/14 season, Giggs said,

When I got a call from David, I was preparing to play for another year. But then I spoke to a few people and had a think about it and I could only see plus points; I couldn’t see any minuses. It’s an exciting chance for me and one that I couldn’t turn down.

Giggs has been taking his coaching badges and is due to attain the UEFA Pro Licence next summer. After signing a one-year extension to his playing contract in March, he will be lacing up his boots for a 24th season as a Red, but a first under a manager who isn't Sir Alex Ferguson.
