GreatestManUnitedPlayer.com is a site that allows you to do just that! It's a site where you decide the greatest football players, soccer stars and best player to ever play for Manchester United! As I said earlier, all of us will argue over who’s the best. But now its your chance to vote and make it official!Rafael Benitez has been under the knife recently for the poor performance of Liverpool. Four consecutive defeats in the league and Europe have made a serious impact on their title hopes. But as he prepares to face Manchester United at Anfield today, he must be thinking of his future.
Last year he was constantly locking horns with Sir Alex Ferguson by making stupid comments about the Old Trafford boss. This year he has been warned by FA about his comments about the match officials. Also, the sale of Xabi Alonso and his dependence on Torres and Gerard have shown the loopholes in the Liverpool team.
So will sacking Rafa be a good option? Its your call folks, so please vote.
"He's a brilliant player, irreplaceable, the best player in the world - so no one's happy he left."

The tall Dutchman seems to be ready to start the game with Bolton before the Premier League begins again after the international break.
Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves could be seen in action in four weeks after returning to England following surgery on both knees. He has been out of action for more than a year now and played his last competitive game for United against Chelsea 13 months ago.
"I apologise to Mr Wiley for any personal embarrassment that my remarks may have caused and to the FA for going public with my views," he said.
"In retrospect, I accept that this could be deemed as expressing those views in an inappropriate forum. "It was never my intention to bring the focus of intense media attention on Mr Wiley. I intend to contact him personally after I return from a trip overseas during this international break.
But to be honest, just like many other, I too believe that Fergie never intended to criticize the ref. He got into that mode to deflect the attention away from a poor performance by his team. He surely is a great manager who knows how to protect his players and the team.

Its barely 5 weeks since the transfer window closed for this year and Manchester United seem to be preparing for their new signings during the January window.
After the clearance from FIFA, Paul Pogba joins Manchester United and would be seen in action soon. But there are rumors that the Red Devils are targeting two top players from Italy. So who are they?
Name: Stevan Jovetic
Age: 19 years
Current Club: Fiorentina.
Position: Winger, Forward
Name: Maicon Douglas Sisenando aka Maicon
Age: 28 years
Current Club: Inter Milan
Position: Right Back
It will be interesting to see if Manchester United are able to sign these players. We seriously need a good Right Back and Maicon can surely fit in the shoes of Gary Neville. What do you think?

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson's recent rant on referee Alan Wiley has forced the FA to question Fergie. He branded the ref 'unfit' and Ferguson's personal attack was so harsh that it left referee Alan Wiley questioning whether he ought to walk away from football.
But a review of the ProZone match data - the tool top players and officials use to analyse their displays - shows that Wiley, 49, ran a total of 6.86 miles during Saturday's match, more than all but four of United's players and three of Sunderland's.
Will Fergie have to take back his words and apologize the ref? What say?

After a disappointing draw against Sunderland that saw United lose their top position, Manchester United find themselves into more trouble. Not exactly trouble, but it will surely cause a bit of distraction, I believe.
After his side's 2-2 draw with Sunderland, Fergie had blasted referee Alan Wiley for his lethargic proceedings. Fergie also said that the 49 year old ref was unfit for officiating matches in the Premier League. And this has surely not gone well with the body that represents the referees. And hence FA had to pitch in and take matters in their control. And now they have written to Sir Alex Ferguson, asking him to explain his comments about referee Alan Wiley.
So what did Fergie say that irked the FA?
The pace of the game demanded a referee who was fit. He was not fit. It is an indictment of our game. He was also walking up the pitch for the second goal needing a rest. He was not fit enough for a game of that standard. You see referees abroad who are as fit as butchers' dogs. We have some who are fit. He wasn't fit. He was taking 30 seconds to book a player. He was needing a rest. It was ridiculous.
I think the only thing that irked the FA was that Fergie referred the refs abroad better than their English counterparts. What do you think?

A chance to strengthen their top position in the League table was given away by Manchester United as they only managed to earn 1 point against Sunderland.
Manchester United have not been defeated by the Black Cats at Old Trafford in the last 40 years and that gave a great opportunity for the home team to earn all three points. And given the big clash between Chelsea and Liverpool the next day, a victory would have seen Sir Alex Ferguson's team maintain their top position. But that did not happen and United slipped down the table.
I could not believe how United were playing that day. No passing, no composure, no seriousness and that allowed Darren Bent to score an early goal. As if that was not surprising, United never looked as if they wanted to get anything out of it. They played ridiculously bad and had to rely on their much-used box of late comebacks to rescue a 2-2 draw against Sunderland. This draw left United at the top, but only temporarily.
Come Sunday and the big battle at Stamford Bridge awaited huge attraction. After a goalless first half, I thought United do have a chance to stay on top. And I was constantly wishing that Liverpool win this game as that would prevent Chelsea on catching up United. But the final result was a completely different affair. Carlo Anceloti managed to win in front of his club owner and that put Chelsea on top again.
United have themselves to blame for a poor and disastrous performance in front of their home fans. I guess, Fergie is going to blast a few lads in the dressing room. But currently, he himself seems to be in some trouble following his comments on ref Alan Wiley.

Manchester United came from behind to beat Wolfsburg 2-1 on a night of contrasting fortunes for Michael Owen and Ryan Giggs. The match started with a shocker for United as Edin Dzeko's opener for the German champions silenced the United fans. But a consistent and wonderful performance from the home team earned them a deserving victory.
It was Ryan Giggs who equalized in the second half when his free kick was deflected into the net. That provided the much needed boost and then Carrick went on to finish the game for United with his winner. The only low point for the home team was the injury to Michael Owen. He barely lasted for 20 minutes as he limped out, complaining of a groin problem.
But Sir Alex did not let Owen's misery to shadow United's great win. He was full of praise for Ryan Giggs as his performance has been outstanding in the last couple of matches. Even at the weekend match against Stoke, it was Giggs who was instrumental in their victory.
While paying him tribute, Sir Alex Ferguson said:
He's unbelievable. With all the superlatives and praise he's had over the years, I don't know how you can add to it. He's a marvelous player. All Ryan is doing at the moment is continuing to play. And the amazing thing is he shows this incredible youthfulness about his performance. It is as if he has just started his career. He is continuing like a young man. He is enjoying his football, which is wonderful to see.
Its absolutely remarkable to see how Giggs manages to put his feet on ground despite so much success and accolades. The goal he scored today makes him the ninth player in Manchester United history to score 150 goals for the club. With one of the most astonishing careers of all-time, I wonder what other magical moments we are gonna see from this 35-year-old Red Devil.
