Manchester Untied seems to put up an exciting bid to bring La Liga starlet Koke to Old Trafford in January. The 21-year-old Atletico Madrid star has been hailed as the new Xavi and has become one of the hottest players on the European scene.

Koke is a versatile midfielder and can play either in the centre or on either flank, with his precise passing and desire to pressure opponents in defence makes him an asset wherever he may be on the pitch. This transfer rumour will be closely followed in the coming weeks. Koke’s performances for Atletico have been so impressive that he has attracted attention of several top clubs who view him as a potential star of world football. The young Spain star will indeed be a great addition to David Moyes’ Manchester United who have been struggling in central midfield despite adding Fellaini in the summer.

Earlier in September, Koke renewed his contract with Atletico until 2018. Moreover, Spanish champions Barcelona are closely monitoring his situation and seem very interested to sign him. Surprisingly, he has a low release clause of around £16 million. If United pays that much money, they will be successful in bringing this La Liga starlet to Old Trafford.

In an attempt to strengthen the midfield, David Moyes spent this summer chasing Barcelona's Cesc Fàbregas and Athletic Bilbao's Ander Herrera but both the deals failed to materialize and he eventually signed Marouane Fellaini, his former Everton player. Several punters even counted on Borussia Dortmund's Robert Lewandowski but even that transfer couldn’t go through.

I hope United is successful in adding Koke to their squad in January as his ability to create and control play as well as his willingness to work defensively are some of his impressive qualities that show his maturity as a footballer at such a young age (he's just 21).
